Ad Hoc Signature Steps for Document Workflows

 

While standard document workflows handle routine approvals with ease, unique situations often require unexpected sign-offs. The Ad Hoc Signature feature provides the flexibility to dynamically add one or more signers to a document workflow without disrupting the predefined sequence. 

 

Adding an Ad Hoc Approval Step

When launching a document for approval, the workflow slider will open with the predefined approval steps that are set at the document category level. To add an ad hoc step, click 'add additional step' in the workflow slider.

Give the step a name and action type (either sign or view). All active users in the account will be listed in the picklist for the approver. When ready, you can send the document off for approval. Ad hoc steps can be routed sequentially or in parallel. By default, these steps occur after your predefined category workflow steps, with the only exception being if a category-level step is specifically designated as 'always last'.
