Overview
Insights Pro users have access to an Edit Mode within the Insights module, enabling your team to fully customize dashboards and visualizations without technical skills. This article covers how to create, copy, edit, and share dashboards.
What You Can Do in Edit Mode
Create new dashboards — Build dashboards from scratch based on your team's needs
Copy core dashboards — Duplicate a core dashboard and customize it without technical knowledge
Design visualizations — Choose from a library of chart types using your custom fields
Control dashboard filters — Apply dashboard-level filters using custom fields or other ZenQMS data
Share dashboards — Share custom dashboards with other users in your organization
How To
Create a new dashboard
Go to Insights > select Edit Mode in the top left
When in Edit Mode, the button turns blue to indicate you’re an editor
Click + to create a new dashboard
Copy a Core Dashboard
Go to Insights > open the core dashboard you want to copy
Select Save as New > name your dashboard
Select Edit Mode > open Private Dashboards in the bottom left
Select your dashboard > click the Edit pencil on the right
Edit a Custom Dashboard and it’s Visualization
Go to Insights > select Edit Mode in the top left. When in Edit Mode, the button turns blue to indicate you’re an editor
Open the dashboard you want to edit > click the Edit pencil on the right
- Select the visualization and click Edit from the menu — the visualization editor will open
Note: Failure to save a dashboard or visualization prior to exiting Insights may result in the loss of edits.
Share a dashboard
Go to Insights > select a dashboard you have share rights to > click Share
Add a user or group and select their access level: The groups are generated based on roles in your account and what users have either Insights View/Export or Insights: Design Dashboards permissions.
