27.0.0 Release Notes

Description

We are pleased to announce 27.0.0 major release! Please reference this article for details on our new approach to version numbering.

With this release we are introducing a new feature: collaborative editing of files in the Documents module using Microsoft for the Web!

Impact

Anyone using the Documents module is impacted.

Authors, Document Category Editors and Administration: Account Super Users will be able to initiate document editing sessions on "draft" documents by clicking the 'Microsoft for the Web' symbol next to the File Name in Document Management/Review window. Any user with access to the 'Microsoft for the Web' link will be able to make edits, as long as the document is in a Draft, Draft Review or Reviewed state. Collaborative editing is supported only for following file types: .docx, .doc, .xlsx, .xls, .pptx, .ppt.

This release is being managed through change control 301-63. An entire release record will be available for review after the release is completed, in the auditor share account.

Version Details

ZenQMS comprises a microservice architecture that breaks up large functions into smaller services. This reduces risk in the development and release process. As such this flagship release version is actually composed of the releases of the individual services components. It is entirely possible for a component service to not change versions in a release cycle even if other components do. Here is the summary for this release.

ZenQMS Release 27.0.0 contains the following “FixVersions”.  We use FixVersion as an internal versioning scheme for our modules/services and maintain them in Jira.
