Tests are seen as one time events (similar to how tests act in a school or training setting), so they cannot be assigned to courses, nor can a retraining interval be applied to them. Users will have to reach a certain score in order to pass and you can determine how many attempts they have at passing, as well as see how long it took them to take the test, and what their answers were. When a new test needs to be taken, the old test can be duplicated or a new test can be created.
Creating Tests
Training tests are created in the training Module by selecting Training: Tests from the dropdown. Click create new and give the test a name and click create again. The test management window will open. You can edit the details, links items, and fill in custom fields (if applicable). The test will remain in a draft state until questions are added in questions tab. After the details are filled in and the questions are added, you can launch the test for approval. Only the test creator will need to sign off on the test. After the test is active, users can be assigned to it.
Assigning Users to the Test
After the test is effective, click on the manage assigned trainees/results tab. To add users and roles to the test, click into the dropdown field and select the appropriate user or role. The user information will populate in the data table below the assignments.
Viewing/Managing Tests
Under the same tab, user training information can be reviewed. If a user fails the allotted number of attempts for the test, you can add another attempt here.
Important things to remember:
- If a user fails the test, you can add another attempt under the manage assigned trainees/results tab.
- If the user passes the test and they need to take it again at a later time, you will need to duplicate the test and assign the user to the new test.
- Tests can not be deleted, but if they are not in use anymore they can be closed. After a test is closed, users can not be assigned to it any longer.
Importing Test Questions
Under the questions tab click import questions. You can download a template by clicking on the click here hyperlink and upload it in the same place.
