To enable ZenSign steps for your document category, you might need to first separate the 'Periodic Review' workflow from your 'Approval - Major Revision' workflow, if they are currently linked. The ZenSign feature does not work with the Periodic Review workflow.
Removing the Linkage
Note: The category will need to be in a draft state to make these changes.
Open the 'General' settings of the document category. At the top right, are the workflow settings. In the example below, the Periodic Review workflow is set the same as the Approval - Major Revision workflow. This linkage will need to be removed.
To remove this linkage, simply click the 'Manage' button next to 'Periodic Review'.
Next, unclick the option 'same as approval workflow' highlighted below.
You will need to set up the steps for this workflow manually; it can be the same workflow as the major approval workflow. These workflows just can not be linked.
Once these two workflows are not linked any longer, you are ready to set up steps for ZenSign.
