An observation is a factual finding categorized by its impact: critical, major, minor, or a comment. Unlike the audit itself, which has a set start and end date, observations are independent records. You have the flexibility to close an audit while leaving specific observations open if the necessary corrective actions require more time. Observations can be created within the audit, after the audit details are filled out.
After the audit details are filled in, you may click the observations tab. Next, click new observation. You will need to fill in the highlighted information and save when ready.
After the audit final report workflow is completed, you may access the observation from the observation dashboard in the pipeline widget. You can click the widget to drill down the data table. Again, observations will not show in the observations dashboard or full table until the audit has reached the published final report state.
You may edit the highlighted information and add attachments, if necessary. Click on the resolve this observation option when finished.
Note: Observations do not need to be resolved to close the associate audit.
