An Issue Category can be as simple or as complicated as you need it to be to fit your company's needs. Stages and transitions can be configured for an Issue category when the category is in a draft state.
Configuring Stages & Transitions
Click on the hyperlinked name of the Issue category that needs stage and transition configurations:
Under the General Settings section, click on Manage Stages and Transitions. A slider box will appear on the right hand side:
It will be blank and have a blue plus button. Click this button to begin adding your first stage:
Fill in the information for this stage:
1. Enter the name of the stage
2. If this is a final stage, check this box. If not, leave blank.
3. Enter the # of targeted days in which this stage needs to completed in.
4. Click save to save this stage.
5. This stage can be deleted during the configuration, if needed.
Once this stage is completed, click the blue plus button to create the next stage.
Create all stages before starting the transition configurations. Remember to include at least one final stage. Some final stages examples include cancellation, closed, & completed:
Once you have added at least 2 stages, you will see the Add Transition button. A transition allows you to choose where you want the process flow to go once the stage is complete. You must include transitions if you have multiple stages:
You can transition from one stage to multiple stages. For example, Stage One transitions to Stage Two or Cancelled. It is important to have a cancelled transition created in each stage so that an Issue may be cancelled in any stage. This will avoid the need to delete created Issues:
After your stage and transition process has been built out, the fields need to be added to each stage and stages assignees and signatures need to be configured.
